Ingredients

  • pounds chicken wings – Make sure to pat them dry for extra crispiness in the air fryer. Moisture can prevent that crispy skin.
  • 1 tablespoon oil – Use any neutral oil like canola or avocado oil to help the seasoning stick and wings crisp up.
  • tablespoons lemon pepper seasoning – This is the star of the dish. It brings a mix of salt pepper, lemon zest, and herbs.
  • ½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper – Adds an extra kick to deepen the flavor and contrast the citrus.

Method

  1. Start by patting the chicken wings dry using paper towels. This step is crucial as it removes excess moisture, which helps the wings crisp up better in the air fryer. Preheat your air fryer to 390°F for a few minutes so it’s hot and ready once the wings go in.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, toss the chicken wings with oil, lemon pepper seasoning, and freshly ground black pepper. Use your hands or tongs to coat them evenly so that every wing gets full flavor. Don’t add salt, as most lemon pepper blends already include it.
  3. Place the seasoned wings in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Avoid overcrowding—if needed, cook in batches. Air fry for 10 minutes, then flip each wing and cook for another 5 to 8 minutes. They should be crispy on the outside and juicy inside, with an internal temp of at least 165°F.
  4. Remove the crispy wings from the air fryer and let them cool slightly. Serve them as is or with your favorite dip—ranch or blue cheese are great choices. You can also sprinkle extra lemon pepper on top for even more flavor. These wings are best enjoyed fresh and hot!
